The Criminal Court of First Instance at the Court of Appeal in Al Hoceima issued a new ruling in a case related to secret emigration, whereby it sentenced a minor for the charges against him, ordering his detention at the Child Protection Center in Nador for a period of three months, starting from the date of actual detention.
The details of the case go back to the involvement of the person concerned in organizing and facilitating the departure of people from the national territory illegally, and participating in an agreement aimed at preparing for these actions and implementing them, in addition to possessing foreign goods subject to the justification of origin without having the necessary legal documents.
At the civil level, the court responded to the demands of the Customs and Indirect Taxes Department, where it ruled that the legal person responsible for the incident should pay a financial amount in favor of the department amounting to 41,940 dirhams, with the confiscation of a rubber boat and two water engines that were seized in favor of customs, and imposing on him the minimum physical coercion in case of non-payment.
This ruling comes a few months after a previous decision by the same chamber in a similar case, in which it had ordered the detention of the minor at the Child Protection Center in Nador for two years, against the backdrop of the same charges.
