The city of Azrou was shaken yesterday morning, Thursday, by the news of the discovery of a young man, approximately 25 years old, dead in the Maamora forest, under circumstances that are still mysterious, after four days of his disappearance.
According to local sources, the victim came from a middle-class family and was the sole provider for his mother after his father's death at a young age. He was known among his surroundings for his seriousness and struggle, as he worked in trade and traveled between cities to secure his daily bread. Preliminary data indicated that the young man left Azrou days ago to purchase commercial goods, and he had a sum of money with him, but contact with him was suddenly cut off, which raised concerns for his family, who began searching for him in vain. Before sunset yesterday, the family was informed of the discovery of the young man's body in the forest, and his identity was confirmed. The body was then transferred to the morgue to undergo a medical examination by order of the Public Prosecutor's Office, in order to determine the causes and circumstances of death. The incident caused widespread shock among the residents of the city and acquaintances of the victim, especially since the young man was the sole support of his mother, who is currently living a difficult psychological situation after receiving this tragic news. The security authorities announced the opening of a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution, to reveal the circumstances of the death and determine whether it was related to an act, pending the results of the investigations and the medical examination.
