The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, stated today, Monday, that the situation in the Middle East is "very worrying," calling for the exercise of "utmost restraint."
Grossi said, at the beginning of a special session of the Agency's Board of Governors to discuss the Iran file, "I reiterate my call to all parties to exercise utmost restraint to avoid further escalation." He pointed out the "continued efforts to communicate with the Iranian authorities concerned with nuclear supervision, but without a response," adding that he has no indications of targeting or damage to Iranian nuclear facilities in the American-Israeli attacks that began on Saturday on Iran. The International Atomic Energy Agency is holding an extraordinary meeting at its headquarters in Vienna, at the request of Russia. (and with)
