HIBAPRESS
The Regional Tourism Delegation of Marrakech stated that the Umrah pilgrims who were stranded in Turkey, due to a dispute with the travel agency (KSAR TOURS) regarding the performance of Umrah rituals, have returned home yesterday, Sunday, March 1st.
The delegation confirmed, in an explanatory statement, that it is closely monitoring this file and coordinating with the Regional Association of Travel Agencies Marrakech-Safi, within the framework of its monitoring and follow-up tasks and the implementation of the provisions of Law 11.16 related to the organization of the travel agent profession. The same source pointed out that, also, within the framework of activating the provisions of the implementing decree No. 80-21-2, which defines the procedures related to granting and exploiting a travel agent license, the concerned agency was contacted to renew its license (ODV) in accordance with the legal procedures and measures, but the agency's failure to respond placed it in a "unlicensed" situation to practice the travel agent profession. The delegation added that this legal situation explains the non-inclusion of the mentioned agency in the official list published on the website of the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, Social Economy and Solidarity for the accredited travel agencies. On this occasion, the delegation urged all pilgrims and the general public wishing to benefit from the services of travel agencies, the necessity of resorting to the official website of the concerned ministry, which includes a list of travel agencies licensed in accordance with the laws in force.
