The regional command of the Civil Protection in the city of Settat celebrated its International Day, which coincides with the first of March of each year. This year comes in a context characterized by an increase in natural disasters related to climate imbalances, most notably the recent floods that have affected most countries of the world, and Morocco in turn, where the elements of the Civil Protection demonstrated their prowess during the floods of Ksar El Kebir.
Under the slogan "Managing Environmental Risks for a Resilient and Sustainable Future," which was chosen by the International Civil Protection Organization as a slogan to raise awareness of the size of the growing challenges associated with environmental risks, which requires an integrated approach and strengthening coordination between various actors, the Civil Protection family in the city of Settat, along with all partners, gathered to raise awareness of the good management of crisis situations, and in recognition of the humanitarian and noble tasks carried out by the members of the Civil Protection apparatus for the benefit of society and humanity. The celebration was presided over by the governor of the province, "Mohamed Ali Habouha," accompanied by the head of internal affairs and a number of elected officials, heads of external services, civil and military security authorities, as well as civil society فعاليات, and the participation of students from some primary schools in the city, where a series of presentations were given to introduce the roles of the Civil Protection devices that are working to save the lives of citizens. The program also included a display of logistics and equipment used in emergency situations, the organization of rescue and firefighting demonstrations, the presentation of workshops on first aid, and the giving of explanations to the delegation by the regional commander of the Civil Protection in Settat, which came in the form of statistics on the mechanisms and human resources that cover the region and data and an upward trend in the development that has occurred at the level of interventions in all regions, and clarifying how some mechanisms work in the event of natural disasters, traffic accidents, extinguishing fires, and the tasks and roles of the preventive devices in charge of civil protection, which are responsible for ensuring assistance to citizens and preserving property and the environment.
