The judicial police elements of the Ain Sebaa Hay Mohammadi security district in Casablanca, on Monday, March 2, 2026, were able to arrest a citizen from a sub-Saharan African country on suspicion of involvement in the possession and promotion of hashish and "bofah" (a type of drug).
The suspect's arrest came after precise investigations and field research, which resulted in monitoring his criminal activity in promoting drugs in an old cemetery in the neighborhood, an activity that was the subject of a video clip that was widely circulated across social media, prompting the security services to intensify investigations to identify the perpetrator. During the preventive body searches and inspections, the police seized several pieces and doses of drugs, in addition to a number of mobile phones and a sum of money suspected to be from the proceeds of criminal activity. The detainee was subjected to a custodial measure under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, with the aim of deepening the investigation and identifying all the actions attributed to him, and monitoring any other potential accomplices. This operation falls within the efforts of the security services to combat drug trafficking, enhance security within neighborhoods, and ensure the safety of citizens.
