In a Ramadan atmosphere filled with the spirit of brotherhood and solidarity, the Moroccan Consulate in Murcia organized, this evening, a Ramadan Iftar ceremony that brought together officials, elected officials, representatives of local institutions, members of the consular corps, in addition to figures from civil society and prominent figures from the Moroccan community residing in the region, in a meeting that was an opportunity to strengthen bridges of communication and dialogue and highlight the growing role of the Moroccan community in strengthening relations of friendship and cooperation between Morocco and Spain.
This meeting was an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of communication between the different components of society, in an atmosphere marked by the values of coexistence and solidarity that the blessed month of Ramadan establishes, and it also provided an opportunity to shed light on the role played by the Moroccan community in consolidating human and cultural ties between the two countries.
In her speech on the occasion, the Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Murcia, Sanaa Marouah, affirmed that the month of Ramadan constitutes an annual station to enhance universal values based on mutual respect, solidarity and coexistence. She also praised the pivotal role played by the Moroccan community in the region, considering it a human and cultural bridge between Morocco and Spain, and its active contribution to the economic, social and cultural dynamics in the country of residence.
This evening took on a special character as it coincided with the commemoration of International Women's Day, where the Consulate General, in this context, honored five women from the Moroccan community who were distinguished by their professional and humanitarian paths, in appreciation of their contributions to strengthening the social fabric and consolidating the values of solidarity, responsibility and serving the public interest.
In the context of the Consulate General's keenness to follow up on the affairs of the Moroccan community and enhance initiatives aimed at strengthening relations of friendship and cooperation between Morocco and Spain, the Consul General announced the launch of an initiative to establish the "Association of Moroccan Community Competencies in the Murcia Region", which aims to gather Moroccan competencies residing in the region from various professional, academic and entrepreneurial fields, with the aim of encouraging the exchange of experiences and valuing the energies of the community, as well as supporting integration initiatives and enhancing the prospects for joint cooperation.
The reception and Iftar ceremony concluded in a friendly atmosphere that reflected the spirit of dialogue and coexistence that characterizes Moroccan-Spanish relations, and it also highlighted the positive role played by the Moroccan community in the Murcia region in contributing to building a diverse and supportive society.
