US President Donald Trump revealed new details about the progress of the "Epic Fury" military operation against Iran, his assessment of the new Iranian leadership, and the possibility of opening channels of negotiation with Tehran.
In an exclusive interview with Fox News reporter Terry Ingest, while returning from Florida to the White House, the US President expressed his displeasure at the selection of Mojtaba Khamenei as the new Supreme Leader of Iran, saying: "I don't think he can live in peace."
Regarding the timing of the strikes, Trump explained that the decision was made after accurate intelligence information, pointing out that the first strike destroyed 50% of Iranian missiles, adding: "If we hadn't done it, the battle would have been much harder. If we had waited three days, I think we would have been attacked."
Trump confirmed that the operation is continuing successfully, pointing to the complete destruction of the Iranian navy and the sinking of dozens of its ships, in addition to eliminating most of the ballistic missile launch platforms in a major strike since the beginning of the operation.
