Following the broadcast of the news that sudden deaths were recorded in the emergency room of the regional hospital of Beni Mellal due to high temperatures, the interests of the Regional Directorate of Health and Social Protection of Beni Mellal-Khenifra opened an immediate investigation to discover the real reasons for this accident.
In order to avoid errors and to enlighten local and regional public opinion, the Management indicated that the regional hospital center of Beni Mellal recorded, on July 24, 2024, 21 deaths, including 4 deaths outside the hospital walls and 17 deaths in the hospital.
The management said in a statement that the majority of deaths were among people with chronic diseases and the elderly, as the significant increase in temperatures contributed to the deterioration of their health and led to their deaths.
The services of the Regional Directorate of Health and Social Protection of Beni Mellal-Khenifra call on all citizens of the region to exercise caution and not to expose themselves to the sun, especially during peak hours, and to consult health services if necessary, noting that they remain at the disposal of all media platforms in the region to provide information related to this issue.
