Iran renewed, on Wednesday, its missile shelling towards the Gulf states, in a new military escalation that coincided with the adoption by the UN Security Council of a resolution calling on Tehran to stop its attacks on the region's countries.
Several Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and the Sultanate of Oman, announced that they had dealt with missiles and drones that penetrated their airspace and targeted American bases and infrastructure on their lands. In this context, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced the implementation of two missile strikes that targeted the Al-Udairi helicopter base in Kuwait, in addition to an attack with missiles and drones that targeted the American base in Mina Salman in Bahrain. This escalation comes in conjunction with the continuation of Israeli strikes on Iran, where the Israeli army announced the implementation of a wave of extensive raids that it said targeted infrastructure related to the Iranian regime. On the international level, the Security Council adopted a resolution calling for the immediate cessation of Iranian attacks on the Gulf states and Jordan, and also condemns any threat or action aimed at disrupting navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
