HIBAPRESS – Abdellatif Baraka
Saaid Amzazi, the Wali of the Souss-Massa region, and the governor of Agadir Ida Outanane prefecture, made a field visit on Tuesday to the Museum of Geology and History in the Anza area, north of Agadir. This visit was part of the efforts to value the natural and scientific potentials of the region and enhance its cultural and tourist radiance.
During this visit, officials from the Moroccan Association for Guidance and Scientific Research presented explanations about the contents of the museum, which highlights the geological history of the region through different eras, and highlights the richness of the Souss-Massa region with fossil indicators and scientific data related to its natural formation.
Also, the footprints of dinosaurs discovered on Anza beach formed a prominent focus during the visit, as they are among the important scientific discoveries that give the region special research and tourism value and open promising prospects for the development of geo-tourism. In this context, the Wali gave his directives to study the inclusion of a project to establish a museum dedicated to dinosaur fossils within the program for the preparation of the next section of the Anza Corniche, with the aim of valuing this natural heritage and transforming it into a scientific and cultural space that enhances the attractiveness of the region and contributes to supporting local tourism and economic activity.
