HIBAPRESS – A. Mahyaoui
Recently, manifestations of vandalism of public property in the city of Taza are increasing, which has sparked the discontent of a number of local actors and the city's residents, in light of repeated attacks on equipment and facilities that were implemented to improve urban spaces and serve citizens.
These behaviors include the destruction of public chairs and green spaces and the breaking of shrubs in some neighborhoods, in addition to causing damage to some landmarks and administrative facilities, including the surroundings of the Bab al-Jumaa landmark, which is one of the historical symbols of the city.
Also, manifestations of neglect and vandalism have affected some gardens and spaces that were previously a demand of the city's residents, despite the equipment and financial capabilities required in the framework of urban planning programs that Taza has witnessed in recent years.
Observers of local affairs believe that reducing this phenomenon requires the combined efforts of various actors, from local authorities and territorial groups to civil society activities, in addition to raising citizens' awareness of the importance of preserving public property as a common property for all.
