The United Arab Emirates announced on Monday the death of a person as a result of a missile falling on a vehicle in the capital, Abu Dhabi, about an hour after announcing its handling of missile and drone "attacks" coming from Iran.
The Abu Dhabi Media Office said in a post on its "X" platform account that "the competent authorities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi dealt with an incident as a result of a missile falling on a civilian vehicle in the Al-Bahia area, which resulted in the death of a person of Palestinian nationality." Earlier on Monday morning, the UAE Ministry of Defense said in a statement that "air defenses are dealing with missile and drone attacks coming from Iran." It explained that "the sounds heard in various areas of the country are the result of the interception by air defense systems of ballistic missiles, and the interception of drones and cruise missiles by fighter jets." The ministry did not specify the number of missiles and drones that the air defenses intercepted.
