Rome witnessed a powerful explosion caused by a gas leak in the eastern area of the city, specifically the Prenestino area, near Via Gordiani, causing panic among the residents.
According to HIBAPRESS sources, the explosion occurred inside a gas station as a result of a gas leak during refueling operations, which led to a fire followed by an explosion that damaged several adjacent buildings. The accident resulted in at least two people being seriously injured, while emergency teams rushed to evacuate about 70 people from the vicinity of the site as a precautionary measure, amid a large presence of fire and ambulance teams. Italian authorities have opened an investigation into the matter to determine the circumstances of the accident and determine responsibilities, while security and assessment work is still ongoing in the affected area.
