Heba Press – Rabat
For several days, the surroundings of a private clinic in the Al-Irfan district of the city of Rabat have been the scene of a protest by the family of a woman, due to the detention of her “body” by the administration of the clinic and the refusal to hand it over until a large sum of money is paid.
According to the relatives’ statements to Heba Press, the deceased entered the clinic a few days ago to undergo a “gallbladder” operation, the success rate of which is 99%.
The deceased’s daughter added that her mother had performed the operation and the doctor treating her had assured them of its success, before they were shocked by the deterioration of her health, which required her transfer to the rehabilitation department.
The claimant added that the hospital had prevented the deceased’s family from seeing her for days before announcing the news of her death.
The family began the process of removing the body for burial, but the hospital administration refused to hand it over until they paid 19 million centimes.
The deceased’s daughter confirmed that she had paid all the fees and expenses of the operation before it was carried out, but she was shocked that her mother’s body was withheld and refused to return it until she paid 19 million centimes.
The family described the hospital’s treatment as inhumane, stressing that they had asked the administration to hand over the body and pay the aforementioned amount in installments, but the latter refused.
The family called on the relevant authorities to intervene to return the body of the deceased and honor him with burial.
