HIBAPRESS
Despite the intensive security campaigns carried out by the police services in the Marrakech security directorate, under the direct supervision of the security governor, Mohamed Mchichou, to dry up the sources of crime in the various alleys and streets of the Red City, as well as the arrest of many individuals who pose a threat to ensure security and safety.
However, the situation in Lebanon Street in the Guéliz district has become a source of concern for the residents and threatens the safety of citizens, after it has become a haven for addicts and drug dealers of all kinds, where scenes of drug use are repeated, and the street is transformed into an open space for aggressive behavior and nocturnal noise. Many citizens, in contact with the newspaper, also expressed their concern about the situation in the mentioned street, especially hotel and restaurant owners, as addicts and drug dealers roam freely, and they also cause panic among citizens, especially tourists, as they enter hotels. In light of this worrying reality, the residents stress the need to conduct regular security patrols at night, and to clear the street of addiction hotspots and drug dealers, before the neighborhood loses the last elements of a decent life.
