The Kingdom of Morocco was honored by the "Association of Educational and Cultural Attachés in Washington," on the occasion of its spring meeting held under the slogan of celebrating the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States of America.
Morocco, which was the first country to recognize the young American Republic in 1777, which is celebrating this year the 250th anniversary of its independence, was celebrated. On this occasion, the Moroccan Ambassador to the United States, Yousef El Amrani, received on Friday the honorary award "Ambassador of the Year," which is awarded annually by the Association of Educational and Cultural Attachés in Washington to a personality from the diplomatic corps accredited in the American capital.
El Amrani received this award from the President of the global company "Du Plain Global Enterprises", Jean du Plain, who supervises many initiatives and diplomatic appointments within the political and diplomatic circles in Washington, in the presence of a group of personalities from the world of politics, diplomacy, economics, and culture, including the First Lady of Guatemala, Lucrecia Eugenia Pinedo Villanueva.
On this occasion, Du Plain was keen to praise the "inspiring" model that Morocco represents, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, within the international community, stressing that the Kingdom remains "a key and trusted partner for the United States."
She also commended the support of the Moroccan embassy for all initiatives that stimulate cultural exchange and the values of cultural pluralism, recalling the distinguished relations between Rabat and Washington, "the alliance that is distinguished by its depth, strategic dimension, and fraternal ties extending across the Atlantic Ocean."
Du Plain also touched on Mr. El Amrani's prominent contributions to the dynamism of the cultural debate in Washington, and his involvement in many events organized by the Kingdom's embassy in Washington, especially within the framework of celebrating the deep-rooted relations between the two countries.
She added that "this award crowns the exceptional path of the ambassador of His Majesty the King, the seasoned diplomat, as well as his dynamism in the American capital since assuming his duties in 2024."
For his part, El Amrani was keen to thank the organizers for the high-symbolism crowning, coinciding with the celebration of the two countries of "two and a half centuries on the establishment of an exceptional alliance, which certainly anticipates a promising future."
He said that this honor embodies "recognition of the depth, importance, and strategic nature of the exceptional historical relations between Rabat and Washington, which have been consolidated within a process enriched by dialogue, shared memory, and mutual respect.
He added that the exceptional relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States, which date back to 1777, "have continued to develop steadily and contribute to achieving remarkable progress and tangible growth, as well as actively contributing to international peace and security."
He pointed out, in this regard, that His Majesty King Mohammed VI and President Donald Trump "made the advancement of this unique alliance a priority, in the continuity of a transatlantic partnership legacy that has no equal."
The ambassador concluded that it "is a relationship that is not limited to continuity, but, and above all, it develops, deepens, and anticipates the future."
