The security services in the city of Tangier reacted quickly and seriously to a video that was widely circulated via the "HIBAPRESS" website, documenting a state of chaos caused by a person suspected of suffering from mental disorders in the Houmat Chouk neighborhood, which created a state of panic among the residents.
Local sources reported that the person in question was roaming the alleys of the neighborhood in an unnatural state, where aggressive behavior was issued towards citizens, which prompted some residents to document the incident and publish it via media platforms, in a move that drew the attention of the competent authorities. Upon the spread of the video, elements of the national security initiated their field intervention, where they moved to the scene and were able to arrest the person in question in a short time, within the framework of their keenness to protect citizens and maintain public order. The residents of the Houmat Chouk neighborhood have welcomed this rapid intervention, expressing their relief at the response of the security services, and at the same time confirming the necessity of taking care of similar social and psychological cases, in order to avoid the repetition of such incidents.
