HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
In response to the article through which "HIBAPRESS" tried to shed light on the suffering of the residents of Al-Amal neighborhood in the Hay Hassani district of Casablanca, the area witnessed, last Tuesday night, a decisive security intervention that resulted in the arrest of the person who posed a real and imminent threat to the safety of a number of families inside building No. 6.
According to data from the scene, security elements belonging to the Hay Hassani security zone (Al-Hamra area), along with various intervening services, began a precise monitoring operation that lasted for hours, before they were able to arrest the person concerned near his residence, in an intervention that the residents described as "professional and responsible."
This security intervention has brought great relief to the residents, who have lived for a long time under the pressure of repeated threats and aggressive behavior of the arrested person. A number of those affected expressed their gratitude and thanks for the efforts made by the security services in order to protect lives and property.
In contrast, the incident brought back to the forefront real questions about the role of local authorities, especially the agents of authority, including the leader of the 26th administrative annex in the area, who had previously been contacted by some of the affected families without the necessary measures being taken, which the residents considered "an unjustified abandonment of responsibility" in a previous stage.
Local sources confirmed that the intervention of the security services restored part of the tranquility to the neighborhood, but the residents are still demanding the need to activate a comprehensive approach, which ensures medical and legal care for cases suffering from psychological disorders, while holding each party responsible to avoid the repetition of such incidents.
Hope remains that this intervention will constitute a real turning point in dealing with such cases, in a way that balances the protection of society and ensuring proper care for people suffering from mental illnesses.
