The city of Foggia in southern Italy witnessed, on the afternoon of Thursday, April 2nd, turbulent weather characterized by strong winds and heavy rain, which caused material damage in several areas within the city.
Local reports indicated that the violent winds led to the fall of a number of trees, including a huge tree that collapsed on Viale Ofanto, near the entrance to the DaVinci hospital, causing damage to four cars that were parked there. No human casualties have been recorded so far, while local authorities and civil protection teams intervened quickly to remove debris and secure the area, with calls for citizens to exercise caution in light of the continued weather fluctuations. These developments come in the context of a wave of climate disturbances that several regions in Italy have been experiencing in recent days.
