French channel C News confirmed that the Moroccan delegation’s parade uniform was among the twenty most distinguished at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, which took place last Friday evening in Paris.
The French channel wrote on its website that the Moroccan Olympic delegation paraded in an outfit that was “a tribute to the symbols of the Kingdom.”
The Moroccan costume was chosen by (C News) among the costumes of France, Spain, Great Britain, the United States, Brazil, India and Canada, “which competed in creativity to highlight their know-how and their culture.”
The whole world was able to admire these twenty costumes, which took months to design, on the Seine during the parade of the participating nations, where the designers worked to highlight traditional crafts and national symbols.
The Moroccan parade uniform, designed by Moroccan designer Ali Al-Idrissi, consists of a light brown jacket dotted with a green star, red pants, gold buttons and sneakers matching the style of the jacket, with green and red laces, representing a tribute to the country’s sporting history and Moroccan identity.
During a joyful ceremony, the large ship carrying the Moroccan sports delegation traveled six kilometers along the Parisian river, to the cheers and applause of the public.
The national flag was raised high during this parade by golfer Enas Lakalesh and horseman Yassine Rahmouni, according to a tradition now firmly anchored in the regulations of the International Olympic Committee, which assigns the carrying of the flag to a mixed duo.
Morocco is preparing to write a new chapter in its Olympic history with the participation of 60 athletes (42 men and 18 women in 19 sports disciplines) in these summer games.
