Dr. Samir Hamama, Head of Medical Affairs at Zemmouri Regional Hospital, confirmed that the health condition of the injured person who was transferred to the hospital after being subjected to an assault is stable and does not raise concerns at the present time.
The medical official explained, in a statement to HIBAPRESS, that the injured person arrived at the hospital fully conscious and was not in a coma. He immediately underwent thorough medical examinations, including an initial diagnosis and X-rays (scanner). The results showed a fracture in the temporal bone of the skull, in addition to a slight effect on an adjacent bone near the ear. He added that the patient's clinical condition has been stable from the beginning, despite suffering from some mild symptoms such as dizziness, balance disorder, and tinnitus in the ear, which are symptoms associated with the nature of the injury to the head. As part of the approved medical protocol, the patient was subjected to continuous medical observation for 48 hours, with a second X-ray examination to ensure the absence of internal bleeding or complications such as blood accumulation inside the skull. The results confirmed the safety of the condition from these complications, which allowed the medical staff to make the decision to discharge him from the hospital. The doctor stressed that the discharge of the injured person does not mean that he was not exposed to a serious injury, as the fracture recorded in the skull requires subsequent medical follow-up, highlighting that the final assessment of any potential long-term effects remains subject to the development of the condition over time. He also pointed out that the injured person will benefit from periodic medical follow-up, in addition to being given a medical certificate that specifies the period of temporary disability, without disclosing its details in respect of legal and professional regulations. He concluded his statement by emphasizing that the condition, as of now, is not suffering from serious complications such as paralysis or loss of consciousness, expressing his hope that the injured person will fully recover as soon as possible.
