Ahmad Wazrouti – HIBAPRESS
The national education sector in Morocco is witnessing a state of increasing tension, against the backdrop of what the Union of Educational Administrators describes as a "management crisis" that characterizes the work of the supervising ministry. The union expressed its deep concern regarding what it considered to be the continued adoption of outdated decisions and the absence of a clear strategic vision, in contrast to the aggravation of what it described as a state of confusion and the absence of good governance.
In a statement, the union criticized what it considered the exclusion of key actors from the decision-making process, at a time when efforts and resources are being wasted, according to its expression, on "failed" projects and demonstrative activities aimed at covering up sector management imbalances and deviating from the national references framing the reform of the educational system. The union affirmed its pride in the pivotal role played by educational administrators in leading reform projects, praising at the same time what it called the "historical steadfastness" of this group and its continued defense of its rights despite what it said was a restriction and closure of dialogue channels by the ministry. The union recorded its strong condemnation of what it described as the ministry's intransigence and its refusal to open a serious and responsible dialogue, warning of the repercussions of the continuation of this situation. It also condemned what it considered arbitrary practices by some regional officials, such as dismissals and "malicious" inquiries, considering this an attempt to pressure educational administrators and deter them from continuing their protests. In a related context, the union announced its solidarity with those affected by various forms of restriction in a number of regions, demanding the acceleration of the appointment of dismissed administrators and the cancellation of the "declaration" procedure after graduation from training centers, which it described as illegal. It also criticized what the ministry is promoting as "unfounded" compensations, considering them an attempt to circumvent the basic demands, calling for the establishment of permanent and fair compensations that are commensurate with the size of the responsibilities, with their calculation within retirement. On another level, the union expressed its rejection of what it described as imposing "illusory" formations based on outdated decisions, demanding their immediate cessation, along with the termination of all related procedures. It also denounced the way the transitional movement for the year 2025 was managed, pointing to the tension and social and psychological instability it left behind for those concerned. The union demanded that the educational administrator be guaranteed the right to benefit from all transitional movements, the announcement of vacant positions, in addition to the recovery of financial deductions that affected this group and compensation for the damage caused by them. At the conclusion of its statement, the union warned against undermining the quality of training in the educational administration corps, especially by assigning field responsibilities to trainees to fill the shortage, calling for consideration of their social conditions during appointment. The union announced the continuation of its struggle program, calling for the organization of a national descent in front of the Ministry of National Education headquarters in Rabat on Monday, May 4, 2026, in a new escalating step that reflects the continuation of tension within the sector.
