As part of the development dynamic witnessed by the Sidi Slimane province, Idris Roubio, the governor of the province, inaugurated a set of social and structural projects today, Thursday, April 9, 2026, in the municipalities of Safafaa and Ksaibia. This comes within the context of strengthening the infrastructure and improving the living conditions of the population.
This program included the inauguration of a project to create pedestrian walkways in the municipality of Safafaa, which aims to secure the movement of citizens, especially students, women, and vulnerable groups, towards public institutions in safe conditions, and to reduce the risks of traffic accidents. The project also aims to contribute to reducing school dropout by providing safe paths to educational institutions, in addition to improving the aesthetics of public spaces and the quality of services provided. This project includes the preparation of roads by consolidating them, reinforcing sidewalks with concrete, in addition to installing solar-powered lighting poles, to ensure the safety of users during various times of the day. In a related context, the governor of the province inaugurated a center for people with disabilities in the municipality of Ksaibia, in a step that reflects the increasing care for this group and the authorities' keenness to integrate them into social and educational life. The center includes modern and equipped facilities, including rooms for physical therapy, speech therapy, and specialized education, in addition to spaces for social and administrative support, with the aim of providing integrated services for the benefit of beneficiaries and their families. This project is of particular importance, as it ended years of delay in implementation, before it saw the light thanks to the efforts made by the regional authorities, within the framework of an approach based on social justice and improving the quality of services for the benefit of vulnerable groups. These initiatives fall within a comprehensive vision that aims to enhance accessibility and road safety, and provide an adequate infrastructure, in addition to supporting social integration, which contributes to the promotion of local development indicators and improving the quality of life of the province's population.
