The General Directorate of Meteorology expects locally strong thunderstorms with hail and snowfall, starting Friday and until Sunday, in a number of regions of the Kingdom.
The Directorate explained, in an orange alert bulletin, that locally strong thunderstorms with hail are expected, with measurements ranging between 25 and 35 mm, in the prefectures and provinces of Marrakech, Kalaat Sraghna, Chichaoua, Al Haouz, Settat, Khouribga, Taroudant, Khénifra, Ben Slimane, Fqih Ben Salah, Youssoufia, and Khemisset, starting Friday from 2 pm until 11 pm.
The same phenomenon is also expected in the prefectures and provinces of Taza, Figuig, Jerada, Taourirt, Boulemane, Guercif and Taounate, on Saturday from 2 pm until 8 pm.
The same source added that snowfall is also expected starting from heights of 1800 meters (10 to 20 cm) in the prefectures and provinces of Midelt, Khénifra, Ifrane, Beni Mellal, Azilal, Al Haouz and Tinghir, on Saturday and Sunday.
