The Young Lawyers Association in Casablanca has warned of increasing manifestations of dysfunction within the civil and social courts in the economic capital, considering that the current situation is hindering the normal course of justice and directly affecting the rights of litigants and the performance of the defense.
A statement issued after an emergency meeting of the Association's office stated that the services of the funds are experiencing a noticeable setback, amidst daily obstacles that hinder the submission of articles and memoranda under appropriate conditions, which the Association described as a "worrying and unacceptable" situation that would undermine citizens' confidence in the judicial system. The Association recorded the spread of a state of confusion and poor organization within these facilities, holding judicial officials responsible for the situation, in the absence of effective solutions. It also criticized what it considered a deficiency in providing the human resources, technical means, and logistical resources necessary to ensure the smooth running of work within the courts. In a related context, the Association expressed its rejection of the continuation of this situation, calling for urgent intervention to correct the imbalances and restore the working conditions, in a way that guarantees the dignity of lawyers and preserves the rights of litigants, and stressed the need to open serious channels of dialogue between the various stakeholders to find urgent solutions. The Association concluded its statement by affirming its readiness to engage in all legitimate forms of struggle, holding the concerned parties fully responsible for any potential escalation in the event the crisis continues.
