The General Directorate of Meteorology expects locally heavy thundershowers with hail, snowfall, and locally strong winds with dust scattering, on Saturday and Sunday in several regions of the Kingdom.
The Directorate explained, in an orange alert bulletin, that locally heavy thundershowers with hail (30 to 40 mm) are expected in the provinces and prefectures of Ouezzane, Chefchaouen, Jerada, Figuig, Guercif, Taourirt, Sefrou, Moulay Yacoub, Taounate, Boulemane, Fez, and Taza, on Saturday from 10:15 AM to 10:00 AM on Sunday. It added that snowfall is also expected starting from elevations of 1800 meters (10 to 20 cm), in the provinces and prefectures of Midelt, Khénifra, Ifrane, Béni Mellal, Azilal, Al Haouz, Tinghir, Boulemane, Guercif, Taza, and Sefrou, on Saturday and Sunday. The Directorate indicated that locally strong winds with dust scattering (75 to 90 km/h) are expected in the provinces and prefectures of Figuig, Jerada, Taourirt, Guercif, Taza, and Boulemane, on Sunday from midnight to 9 PM.
