HIBAPRESS – Rabat
The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, confirmed that the traditional industry sector continues to record positive performance in terms of exports, reflecting an improvement in the competitiveness of Moroccan artisanal products and strengthening their presence in foreign markets.
The Head of Government explained on Wednesday, during a joint session of the two chambers of parliament dedicated to presenting the government's balance sheet, that traditional industry exports exceeded the threshold of 1.23 billion dirhams in 2025, recording a growth of 56% compared to 2019. Aziz Akhannouch stated that this development reflects the efforts made to qualify and modernize the sector, while preserving its heritage and cultural components, within the framework of a vision that aims to enhance the added value of the traditional industry and increase its competitiveness. According to the government's balance sheet, this performance comes within a broader dynamic that aims to integrate the sector into value chains and support its ability to create job opportunities, especially in rural areas, which enhances its contribution to economic and social development.
