A young man from the Ben Tayeb region in the Driouch province died today, Wednesday, in a hospital in the Al Hoceima province, succumbing to severe injuries sustained in a traffic accident that occurred about a week ago on the national road connecting Al Hoceima and Nador, within the municipality of Imzouren.
The young man had suffered serious injuries after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car. He was then transported to the hospital for necessary treatment, but his health condition deteriorated, and he passed away today due to his injuries.
Following the accident, Royal Gendarmerie elements at the Imzouren territorial post initiated inspection and examination procedures. A search of the motorcycle resulted in the seizure of approximately 1.2 kilograms of cocaine.
The discovery of this quantity of drugs sparked another dimension to the investigations launched by the competent authorities under the supervision of the Public Prosecution, aiming to determine its source, intended destination, and any potential links to this case.
With the young man's death, the investigations and legal proceedings related to the seized quantity of drugs continued, pending the outcomes of the inquiries conducted by the specialized services.
