The regional judicial police in Fez, in coordination with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, managed in the early hours of Saturday, October 10th, to foil an attempt to smuggle four tons and 100 kilograms of hashish. Three individuals suspected of being linked to a criminal network involved in the international trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances were apprehended.
This security operation was carried out in a rural area on the outskirts of Fez, leading to the arrest of the main suspect and the discovery of a truck loaded with four tons and 100 kilograms of hashish within her farm. Additionally, four marine engines and four inflatable boats, suspected of being used in international drug smuggling operations, were found.
Ongoing investigations and inquiries into this case also led to the apprehension of two other individuals suspected of participating in this criminal activity. It later emerged during background checks that the main suspect was subject to a national search warrant for suspected involvement in a similar case related to drug and psychotropic substance trafficking.
The three suspects have been placed under judicial investigation, which is being conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, to identify any potential ramifications of this criminal activity and to uncover all criminal acts attributed to those involved.
