The new government has maintained the presence of a number of names associated with strategic sectors, in contrast to changes that affected other sectors, in a formation led by the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) within a majority comprising three other parties: the Independence Party (Istiqlal), the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP), and the Party of Progress and Socialism (PPS).
Regarding the continuity of names, Abdelouafi Laftit retained the Ministry of Interior, Nasser Bourita the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, Abdelatif Ouahbi the Ministry of Justice, and Ahmed Toufiq the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs.
Nizar Baraka also continued in the Ministry of Equipment, Water, and Forests, Ryad Mezzour in the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Investment, and Digital Economy, and Abdelatif Loudiyi in the management of the National Defence Administration.
In contrast, the formation saw changes in the management of several sectors. Fouzi Lekjaa took over the Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Public Efficiency, while Nabil Benabdellah returned to the government through the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, and Sports. Horra Al-Filal was entrusted with the Ministry of Energy, Mines, and Sustainable Development.
The changes also included the creation of portfolios with new formats and responsibilities in the announced formation, among them the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Transformation, and Administrative Reform, which was entrusted to Ahmed Rahhou, and the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Solidarity Economy, which was managed by Jalal Charaf.
These changes present the government with a test of managing multiple files, foremost among them employment, education, health, and investment, in addition to implementing new responsibilities and defining coordination mechanisms between ministers and delegate ministers.
