HIBAPRESS – Follow-up
A 30-year-old Italian youth of Moroccan origin, identified as Y.S., found himself at the heart of a sensational legal case after being arrested by Italian authorities on suspicion of involvement in inciting illegal acts. This stems from his activity on social media platforms, in a case related to protests that have recently taken place in Italian cities.
According to Italian media reports, the individual is suspected of managing digital accounts and platforms, including an Instagram page and a Telegram channel named "October 17 Movement." This movement emerged in the context of protests linked to the rising cost of living, some of which involved confrontations and acts of vandalism.
The investigations are focused on the nature of the content circulated through these platforms and the extent to which it was used to incite illegal acts or organize protest movements that might involve confrontations with security forces.
The charges against the suspect also include aggravating circumstances related to terrorist objectives, though these are still under judicial investigation and no final verdict has been issued.
The individual is known for his interest in political affairs and his participation in activities related to protest movements. He has participated in pro-Palestine demonstrations and has previously collaborated with Italian media and research institutions, according to local press reports.
