Moroccan star Mona Fatou stated in an interview with Heba Press that the international artist Jad El Maleh attended the opening of the play “Chicken with Olives,” in which she participates. She pointed out that he has been a friend for over twenty years, while his sister Judith is responsible for writing and directing the play. She said: “Jad El Maleh greatly liked the play and encouraged me with his words, which I consider a badge of honor and great recognition of the work’s value, especially since he is a global star and one of the most prominent known comedians.”
Regarding the series “Al-Rahma,” Fatou confirmed that it was a turning point in her artistic career and left a profound impact on the Moroccan audience, adding: “I am very proud of this work and the role I played in it, both in terms of writing and directing. I always believe that there is a moment that God Almighty prepares, where all the circumstances come together to produce a work of this level. And I hope that this will not be a unique experience, but that we will see more similar works in terms of the quality of the screenplay, directing, and production.”
She pointed out that the end of the series hinted at the need for a second part, emphasizing that she did not agree with it, but she considers it a natural prelude to completing the story. As for the title of the play, Mona Fatou explained that it has a symbolic dimension that embodies the idea of bringing people together: “Chicken with olives is a global dish found in all kitchens in different ways, and the idea is that food brings people together. The ultimate goal of the play is for love and coexistence to be the link between societies and religions.”
In closing her remarks, Fatou revealed that the play will soon be shown in Morocco, along with new television and film projects, sending a message of love to her audience: “All appreciation and gratitude to the Moroccan audience who always remains present and supportive.”
