HIBAPRESS – A. Mahyoui
In celebration of the International Day of Rural Women, the National Initiative for Human Development in the prefecture of Meknes, in partnership with the Regional Delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the Association of Health Networks in Meknes, organized a communication meeting this morning, Monday, October 27, 2025, at the rural health center in Sidi Slimane Moul El Kifane. This was within the framework of the national campaign to raise awareness of the importance of early breastfeeding, which runs from October 20 to November 20, 2025.
This meeting comes within the context of the efforts made to celebrate rural women and appreciate their role in local development, coinciding with the celebration of the International Day of Rural Women, which falls on October 15 of each year. The event provided an opportunity to highlight the continuous efforts made by the National Initiative for Human Development to improve the conditions of rural women through its various programs. The initiative works, in this context, to promote schooling in the rural world by establishing student residences and providing school transport services, in addition to supporting the economic integration of women and girls through the initiative’s third program, which provides financial and technical support to project holders. The health of mothers and children also receives special attention through the establishment of maternity homes and the rehabilitation and equipping of delivery units and health centers in various rural communities. The campaign also provided an opportunity for health professionals to provide practical guidance on the importance of early breastfeeding as an essential stage in the child’s growth and strengthening his immunity, in addition to educating mothers about the importance of balanced nutrition, health care, and psychological support during pregnancy, while emphasizing the need for regular medical follow-up for the mother and infant. This meeting reflects the commitment of various local actors to continue joint work to promote health awareness and socio-economic empowerment for rural women, in a way that consolidates the values of social justice and sustainable development in the rural environment.
