As part of the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the Glorious Independence Day, Jamal Chaarani, the governor of the Nador region and the head of the Regional Committee for Human Development, on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, oversaw the distribution of five school buses, which were purchased as part of the program to support human capital for future generations, within the framework of the National Initiative for Human Development for the year 2025.
This project aims to support and encourage schooling and combat the phenomenon of school dropout, especially in rural areas, where it seeks to consolidate spatial justice in the school transport facility. The total cost of the project reached 2,000,000 dirhams, and it is part of the ongoing efforts to improve and expand school transport services and ensure the ease of access for students to educational institutions. Since the launch of the National Initiative for Human Development program in 2005, a total of 110 school buses have been purchased in the Nador region. These buses have contributed to improving the indicators of school transport services and reducing the rate of school dropout, especially among rural girls, which has contributed to enhancing educational opportunities for remote areas. This project reflects the commitment of local authorities to providing a suitable and favorable educational environment for all children, regardless of their place of residence, which helps achieve sustainable development in the region. This support also comes within the framework of the ongoing efforts to improve the quality of education in rural and remote areas. The distribution of these buses is an additional step towards strengthening the role of the National Initiative for Human Development in improving public services, and it reflects the increasing interest in providing school transport services to ensure children's right to education, which contributes to reducing spatial and social disparities.
