On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, in Rabat, the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, chaired a meeting in the presence of the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Mohamed Saad Barada. The meeting presented the strategic plan for the National Company for the Achievement and Management of Sports Facilities (SONARGES) and followed up on the progress of the structured projects overseen by the company, within the framework of qualifying the national sports infrastructure.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Collective Administration of the National Company for the Achievement and Management of Sports Facilities, Youssef Belqassmi, presented a presentation on the company's strategic plan, which is based on valuing its acquisitions and strengthening its human resources, while striving to strengthen its territorial presence in various regions, through the development of new offerings to be in the service of the population. He also shed light on the progress made in the qualification of sports stadiums for the 2025 African Cup of Nations and the 2030 World Cup, pointing out the adopted governance system, and the technical, administrative, and financial tracking mechanisms followed to ensure the implementation of projects as required. With an emphasis on the existing coordination between "SONARGES" and all the concerned ministerial sectors, institutional and sporting partners. On this occasion, the Head of Government recalled the special attention that the King pays to the sports sector by mobilizing the necessary resources to create infrastructure, and providing sports equipment in the various regions of the Kingdom, calling for accelerating the work dynamic of "SONARGES" through this strategic plan, to achieve a new launch that contributes to strengthening the national sports infrastructure, and makes it a contributing element in creating integrated territorial development. It is worth noting that the National Company for the Achievement and Management of Sports Facilities, which was established in 2008, today manages more than 78 sports infrastructure, distributed over 6 regions of the Kingdom.
