The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has circulated the Friday sermon to various imams and preachers of mosques in the Kingdom, for which the topic of the conditions of fulfilling contracts and their most important effects was chosen, and it came as follows:
Fellow believers, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, says, addressing Mu'adh ibn Jabal, may God be pleased with him, and the speech is also directed to his nation, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: “O Mu'adh, do you know the right of God over His servants, and what is the right of the servants over God?” I said: God and His Messenger know best. He said: “The right of God over the servants is that they worship Him and do not associate anything with Him, and the right of the servants over God is that He does not punish those who do not associate anything with Him.” So I said: O Messenger of God, shall I not give them glad tidings to the people? He said: “Do not give them glad tidings, lest they rely on it”[1]. Servants of God; In this noble prophetic hadith, there is evidence that rights are reciprocal, even between the servants and their Lord, even though God Almighty does not owe anything to anyone from His creation, but rather He, glory be to Him, has made it obligatory on Himself out of grace and honor, not out of necessity and compulsion. The past sermon, from the sermons of "Paying the Notice", dealt with the importance of contracts in people's lives, and talking about the obligation to fulfill contracts, and these contracts have conditions so that they bear fruit and achieve their purposes, and this is the topic of today's talk, which is in brief: First: Conditions for fulfilling the contract with God Almighty; And the contract with God Almighty is the greatest and most glorious of contracts, including the creed upon which the believer's heart is held, and its first condition is sincerity emanating from true faith, and its meaning is freedom from all whims and desires, so that the servant is a person who forsakes his desires and follows the will of God Almighty in His command, and avoids His prohibition. And its second condition is righteous deeds; Which was in accordance with the Sunnah, far from innovation and whims, and is performed at the highest degrees of perfection and charity, as it came in the hadith: “God has written charity on everything”[2]. The believer is required to be sincere in his work and to perfect it with God Almighty and with the servants, so that he fulfills the condition of the contract with God Almighty and deserves His reward and great recompense. Therefore, faith is associated with righteous deeds in many verses in the Holy Quran. Second: Conditions for fulfilling the contract with the state; There is no doubt that the state has contracted with its citizens on the basis of the legal allegiance and consultation among them through its institutions, so each of us must know what is for him and what is against him; So that he fulfills the condition of that contract with sincerity and honesty, so the duty of the state on the basis of its contract is to teach the sons of Muslims according to what is agreed upon, and that is by having in their education what benefits them and purifying them with virtuous morals and instilling in their souls the love of the Quran and religion and loyalty to the homeland and working for it, as the state must take care of health matters on the condition of preserving the health safety of the homeland and citizens, as it must guard security on the condition of preserving the security of the country and the people, as for the citizens, their contract includes sincerity in every work or transaction, as we are all responsible, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Indeed, everyone of you is a shepherd, and everyone is responsible for his flock. The Amir who is in charge of the people is a shepherd over them and is responsible for them, and the man is a shepherd over the people of his house and is responsible for them, and the woman is a shepherd over her husband’s house and his children, and she is responsible for them, and the slave is a shepherd over his master’s money, and he is responsible for him, and everyone of you is a shepherd, and everyone is responsible for his flock”[3]. And the fruits of fulfilling the contract with the state bear fruit in serving the nation and the homeland and benefit every citizen and the group as a whole, and the most important of it is the lawful earnings, which is what its owner fulfills the condition. And thus he lives happiness and peace of mind in this world, with winning the satisfaction of God in Paradise. May God benefit me and you with His clear Quran, and with the hadith of the master of the first and last, and our last prayer is that praise be to God, Lord of the worlds.
The Second Sermon
Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the noblest of the prophets and messengers, our master Muhammad, the honest and trustworthy prophet, and upon his family and companions and those who followed his path until the Day of Judgment.
Servants of God;
Third: The condition of fulfilling the contract in marriage; As marriage has a special status over all other contracts between people; Because it is the contract of dignity and grace, and the Holy Quran called it the strong covenant, as the family is the nucleus of society, and its first school, so we mention from the conditions for fulfilling it honesty between the spouses and sincerity in dealing with each other with what is known, and the constant keenness to preserve tranquility, love and mercy.
As the goal of this contract is to guarantee the basis of a good life, and then it is the continuation of the human type in the construction of the earth; For the sake of the greatest goal in existence, which is the establishment of the oneness of God, and singling Him out, glory be to Him, with worship without anyone else.
And from the fruits of fulfilling the marriage contract: planting love in the hearts of its members, forming a good and blessed believing family, enriching society with the righteous, and contributing to the desired progress for all.
Fourth: Conditions for fulfilling all other contracts; It is known that God Almighty's wisdom has dictated that He makes people cooperative among themselves in righteousness and piety, interdependent in meeting their needs, and exchanging benefits and interests among themselves, and this requires that there be fulfillment, honesty, and love until their lives are stable and prosperous, and the condition for that is honesty and explanation, and the removal of all types of fraud and abandonment, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
“The two merchants have the choice as long as they do not separate – or he said: until they separate – if they are honest and explain, their sale is blessed, and if they conceal and lie, the blessing of their sale is erased”[4].
And so, servants of God; These different contracts meet in the requirement of providing the conditions of honesty, sincerity, trust, seeking the face of God, and intending to benefit the servants, and earning a living in a lawful manner, and making oneself and others happy.
This, and pray and greet the guide, the trustworthy, our master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. O God, bless and grant peace and blessings to the one who, if he speaks, is sufficient, and if he accompanies, he purifies, and if he covenants, he fulfills, our master Muhammad, the chosen one.
And may God be pleased with the four caliphs, our masters the Hanifs; Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, and Ali, and with his pure family, his faithful companions, and with those who followed them in public and in secret.
And may God grant victory with His great power and His glorious might to those whom you have entrusted with the affairs of your servants, and expanded His hand in your land and countries, our master, the Commander of the Faithful, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, a victory by which you honor the religion and raise the banner of the Muslims, O God, grant him his hopes that please You, and complete your blessings upon him in his present and his future, and delight the eyes of His Majesty with his beloved Crown Prince, His Royal Highness, Prince Moulay El Hassan, and strengthen his support with his happy brother, Prince Moulay Rachid, and with the rest of the members of the Sharifian Royal Family, indeed You are the Hearer, the Answerer.
And may God, with His vast mercy, cover the two glorious kings, our master Mohammed V, and our master Hassan II, O God, purify their soil, honor their resting place, and reward them with the best of what you have rewarded the righteous for his righteousness.
O God, enable us to act upon your book, and follow the Sunnah of your Prophet, and make us of those who fulfill your covenant, and the covenant of your servants, and make us happy in this world with your pure grace and abundant support, and in the Hereafter with Paradise and looking at your noble face, with your pure forgiveness, mercy, and abundant goodness.
O God, forgive us and our fathers, our mothers, and all the Muslim men and women, the believers, men and women, the living of them and the dead.
Our Lord, give us in this world good and in the Hereafter good and protect us from the torment of the Fire.
Glory be to your Lord, Lord of Glory, from what they describe, and peace be upon the messengers, and praise be to God, Lord of the worlds.
