HIBAPRESS
In implementation of the High Royal Directives, and announcing the practical implementation phases of the government program aimed at rehabilitating the areas affected by the floods that occurred in the city of Safi on December 14, 2025, a meeting of the program's steering committee was held today, Tuesday, at the headquarters of the Safi Provincial Governorate, immediately after its central approval by the various intervening partners.
This meeting consolidates the actual involvement in activating the program's axes on the ground, as the steering committee was established as a comprehensive institutional and legal framework, which directly supervises the implementation of the agreed-upon procedures, ensures the coordination of the interventions of various actors, as well as accompanying the implementation, following up on the stages of completion, and evaluating the field impact of various interventions. Technical works carried out by the specialized committees have enabled the completion of a precise census of damaged homes and commercial stores, in addition to a comprehensive diagnosis of the roads, networks and public facilities, which provided a basic database that the local system relied on in developing the components of this program and identifying its priority axes and implementation mechanisms. In the same context, the contracting parties were reviewed during the meeting, with clarification of the obligations of each party, in addition to presenting a detailed presentation on the most prominent axes of the program, which include supporting the repair of damaged homes, accompanying the repair of damaged commercial stores and contributing to the resumption of their economic activity, and supporting affected street vendors by establishing a project to establish them near "Bab Al-Shaaba". The program also includes an axis for the rehabilitation, strengthening and qualification of roads and areas affected by the city, and the completion of cleaning, restoration and strengthening works of "valleys", in addition to qualifying social centers and supporting neighborhood activation at the level of the old city, as well as humanitarian initiatives and parallel forms of support for the benefit of the affected groups. In this context, and in fulfillment of the High Directives of King Mohammed VI, emphasis was placed on the importance of comprehensive mobilization and strengthening the coordination mechanisms between all stakeholders, to ensure the actual implementation of the programmed procedures and measures, and to ensure the coordinated and integrated implementation of the various axes of the program. On this occasion, the attendees reiterated the value of the High Royal Initiative, which embodies the continuous care that His Majesty the King, may God protect him, gives to citizens, and reflects the spirit of commitment and responsibility in dealing with the effects of natural disasters, by adopting a comprehensive solidarity approach based on closeness and listening to the concerns of the population, and responding to their basic needs. In the same regard, all participants stressed that this workshop constitutes a model for a consistent approach in managing the repercussions of natural disasters, which is based on effective field action and unifying efforts, in a way that contributes to restoring social and economic balance in the affected areas, and enhances the ability of the territorial area to recover and strengthen its immunity against future risks.
