HIBAPRESS – Abdellatif Baraka
The Royal Gendarmerie services in the Aklou territorial center, near the city of Tiznit, launched a thorough security investigation that ended with the arrest of a foreign person holding French nationality, due to suspicions surrounding activities related to the use of unlicensed communications technologies.
According to the available data, the person in question converted his residence, located in a remote village in the region, into a space equipped with advanced technological equipment, which raised the attention of the local authorities and prompted them to open an in-depth investigation to determine the nature of the activities that were being practiced from inside this rural dwelling. The search operation carried out within the framework of this investigation resulted in the seizure of technical equipment suspected of being used in the field of international communications outside the legal framework in force, which reinforced the hypothesis of the suspect's involvement in illegal activities. Accordingly, the person in question was arrested and placed under custody, pending the investigation being conducted under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution, pending the completion of all necessary legal procedures. In the same context, the security services continue to analyze the seized equipment and evidence, with the aim of determining the precise uses of this equipment, as well as identifying the possibility of connections or potential extensions with external networks that may be involved in such activities. This operation falls within the continuous efforts made by the Moroccan authorities to confront all illegal actions related to technological equipment and communication networks, due to the potential risks they may pose to public security.
