In a scene embodying the power of law and the prestige of the state in protecting its citizens, the vicinity of the First Administrative Annex in the heart of Nador witnessed, on Monday, a major "urban cleansing" operation, which aimed to demolish the fortresses of dilapidated buildings that had been for years daggers planted in the flank of the city.
This move was not just a passing administrative procedure, but came in implementation of strict and direct instructions from the governor of Nador province, who put "citizen safety" above all consideration, directing the need for a final break with the policy of laxity towards buildings that threaten lives and scratch the civilized face of the city. The intense security presence and civil defense elements reflected the absolute seriousness in implementing the vision of the governor, aimed at eradicating these black spots that over time turned into "time bombs" threatening the residents and a safe haven for negative social phenomena and illegal practices. This wide-ranging field operation is a living translation of the directives of the territorial administration in the province, which stresses that "the new Nador" has no place for abandoned ruins inhabited by waste and the homeless. The governor has affirmed on more than one occasion the need to transform these areas from pollution and crime hotspots into spaces that serve the general aesthetics, in line with the major development boom led by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in the region, which does not go hand in hand with the presence of distorted ruins in the vital centers of the city. The residents welcomed the roar of the mechanisms with a flood of relief and appreciation, considering that the authorities' intervention today is a "new birth certificate" for their security and safety. This step not only removed dilapidated walls, but also removed a nightmare of terror that was haunting passers-by and neighbors, confirming the correctness of the proactive approach adopted by the governor of the province in managing the burning files, and striking with an iron fist on everything that would endanger the lives of the residents or hinder the path of urban modernization. At the end of this campaign, the regional authorities sent a clear message without ambiguity: "The demolition train will not stop." Sources confirmed that the program to remove dilapidated buildings will include every inch of the city without exception, in implementation of the regional plan aimed at enhancing the quality of life and securing the urban environment. The goal is not demolition in itself, but to restore the dignity of the Nador citizen and ensure his living in a safe, clean environment, befitting the future ambitions of the province.
