On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, security services in the Guercif region managed to arrest three people in Douar Beni Ouraïn on the SAKA road, as part of a joint security operation that resulted in the seizure of significant quantities of various types of drugs.
According to the available data, this operation was carried out under the direct supervision of the head of the Judicial Police Department, with the participation of judicial police elements who coordinated effectively with the Royal Gendarmerie elements, in a field intervention that targeted suspects involved in criminal activities related to drug trafficking, under the supervision of the head of the Regional National Security Department in Guercif. The operation resulted in the arrest of three people, two of whom were the subject of national search warrants, suspected of being involved in cases of assault and drug trafficking. The search also led to the seizure of a significant quantity of kif and chira, in addition to a quantity of cocaine, which suggests the hypothesis of the detainees' connection to other people who have a relationship with drug trafficking in the region. The concerned individuals have been placed under custody pending the judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor's office, in order to determine all the circumstances of the case, and to reveal the possible extensions of this criminal activity, as well as to identify the other presumed accomplices. This operation comes in the context of the continuous efforts made by the security services in Guercif to combat drug trafficking and enhance the sense of security among the population, especially in areas that are experiencing increased activity in the trafficking of prohibited substances.
