HIBAPRESS – Follow-up
A controversial incident in France has sparked a wave of widespread reaction, after a former French Olympic official fell into a digital trap, following conversations with an artificial intelligence account that impersonated a 14-year-old girl.
This involves Dominique Bouvet, the former vice-president of the Olympic Committee in Haute-Saône, eastern France, who believed he was talking to a minor girl, before revealing during the conversation his desire to kiss her. According to what was circulated, the other party was not a real person, but an artificial intelligence system designed to simulate conversations and detect suspicious behaviors online, which put the former official in an embarrassing position and sparked a wide discussion about the use of modern technology in monitoring inappropriate behavior in the digital space.
