The "Ultras Military" faction, which supports the Royal Army club, expressed its strong displeasure at what the team's fans were subjected to during their trip to South Africa to watch the first leg of the CAF Champions League final against Mamelodi Sundowns, which ended in the team's loss by a goal to nil.
The faction explained in a statement that it condemns what it described as "the attacks on the military fans by the South African security forces," which resulted in injuries and cases of fainting among the fans, in events considered far from the sporting spirit and the values of continental competitions. The statement added that the way of dealing with Moroccan fans outside the homeland raises many questions, especially in light of the respect and reception that foreign fans receive inside Morocco, which raises questions about the standards adopted in this context. The faction also stressed its firm rejection of all forms of violence and provocation that affected its supporters, who only traveled to support their team and represent their country, calling on the concerned authorities to take responsibility for protecting the Moroccan fan and preserving his dignity inside and outside the country, with wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured. It should be noted that the second leg match will be held on the grounds of Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, next Sunday, starting at eight in the evening.
