A number of worshippers in the Temsaman commune of Driouch province were surprised by the complete closure of the ablution facilities at the "Krona" Grand Mosque during the Dhuhr prayer; a shocking scene that affects the sanctity of the houses of God and sparked a wave of anger and resentment among the attendees.
A state of bewilderment and confusion prevailed among the citizens who were led by their steps to the mosque, only to be confronted with a "arbitrary closure" of the ablution area at a critical time, which deprived them of preparing for religious rituals in a suitable atmosphere. This unjustified act put the worshipers, especially the elderly and travelers, in a very humiliating and embarrassing situation; many of them went to the house of God hoping for serenity and tranquility, but they faced closed doors that prevented them from fulfilling their biological and legal needs before prayer. Live and condemning testimonies from the scene indicated that the supervisor of the facility periodically and provocatively closes the place at the same time as prayer time, seizing the key and then leaving, acting with the mosque as if it were a "private property" a personal estate and not a house of God open to the public. In the angry reactions, citizens from the population considered that the continuation of this abnormal and provocative situation is a flagrant violation of the natural role of mosques, which are supposed to be open spaces equipped to receive the guests of God in the best conditions, and not a field to restrict them. The users wondered with great indignation about the real backgrounds and underlying motives behind this "random" decision to close a vital and sensitive facility without which the prayer of its pioneers is not correct. In the face of this situation, which was described as "disgraceful", the population expressed their categorical rejection of the continued silence, strongly demanding that the competent authorities and those supervising religious affairs in the province intervene immediately and urgently to end this farce. The protesters also stressed the need to permanently open the ablution facilities without any restrictions during prayer times, with the opening of an investigation and the accountability of anyone who would consider playing with the comfort of worshipers and the dignity of mosques and ensuring that such behaviors are not repeated.
