The Government Council, meeting today, Thursday, approved draft law number 041.26 amending and supplementing the law on the direct social support system, within the framework of strengthening the social protection path and expanding the beneficiary base.
The project, presented by the Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, aims to address some of the problems that the practical application of the system has produced since its launch in 2023, by creating an exceptional grant that is disbursed once for the benefit of families who have lost their right to benefit from support due to the declaration of one of their members to the social security system in the private sector. This approach aims to encourage work declaration and motivate families to integrate into the structured labor market, by providing phased support that ensures a smoother transition towards economic and social stability. The project also comes in line with the provisions of the framework law on social protection, especially those related to updating the legal and regulatory system related to social support.
