HIBAPRESS – Mohamed Zariouh
This Monday morning, a number of people known as "middlemen" appeared before the Public Prosecution at the Court of First Instance in Nador, following their arrest by the Royal Gendarmerie in Al Aaroui, after intensive field interventions in the weekly Sunday market yesterday. The detainees were presented in a state of detention to consider the accusations against them related to illegal brokering and the practice of "middlemen" which affects the course of the buying and selling process in the markets.
The hallways of the Court of First Instance in Nador witnessed a state of alert during the referral of the concerned parties, where they were subjected to legal presentation procedures before the public prosecutor, who oversaw the examination of the records prepared by the judicial police elements of the Royal Gendarmerie. This stage is crucial in the legal course of the case, where the accusations against each person were scrutinized individually, and they were confronted with the violations that were detected inside the market during the implementation of the security campaign.
Following the completion of the examination of the files and the hearing of the initial statements of the detainees, the Public Prosecution at the Court of First Instance in Nador decided to follow up all the concerned persons on bail. This judicial decision comes within the framework of the legal powers granted to the Public Prosecution in assessing the circumstances of the case, obligating them to attend the upcoming sessions to complete the remaining procedures and legal procedures in force.
These judicial measures come as a direct result of the intervention of the Royal Gendarmerie elements in Al Aaroui, who carried out a security campaign targeting the random brokering that is active in the weekly markets. The detainees were initially taken to the gendarmerie center, where legal records documenting the illegal operations of price speculation were placed under the supervision of the Public Prosecution, which formed the basic material on which the court relied in adapting the accusations against them.
These security and judicial movements fall within the framework of a broad strategy aimed at organizing the markets in the Nador region, and combating all forms of speculation and illegal brokering that provoke the discontent of citizens and cause an unjustified increase in the prices of consumer goods. This firm step confirms the authorities' determination to continue the combing operations to ensure the transparency of commercial transactions and protect the purchasing power of citizens from the tampering of intermediaries.
