The content creator known as "Ape's Son" sparked widespread controversy on social media platforms after posting a video on his YouTube channel, in which he is seen finding a dead puppy, before linking the incident to a context related to Eid al-Adha, according to what was stated in the video.
The video's contents caused a wave of condemnation among a number of activists and users of digital platforms, who considered that the content included provocation of public sentiment and raised questions about the nature of the published materials and the limits of responsibility in digital content. In this context, interactors called for the intervention of animal rights defense associations, in order to open an investigation or take the necessary measures, to ascertain the circumstances of the incident and the extent of respect for the laws in force regarding the protection of animals and the prevention of their abuse. Activists also demanded increased monitoring of content published through digital platforms, especially those that arouse widespread controversy or affect accepted ethical standards.
