HIBAPRESS – Rabat
The Secretary-General of the Party of Progress and Socialism, Nabil Benabdellah, revealed that the party has adopted an approach aimed at strengthening the presence of women and youth in selecting its candidates and heads of its local lists for the upcoming legislative elections.
Benabdellah explained, during his hosting on the program "Hour of Frankness" on Channel Two, that the party will present nine women at the head of the local lists, along with nine young candidates under the age of 35. The Secretary-General of the Party of Progress and Socialism affirmed that the presence of women and youth among the party's candidates falls within a framework aiming to renew elites and enhance the participation of young people and women in the upcoming elections. In the same context, Benabdellah indicated that the party has also chosen to nominate a number of competent party cadres who are contesting the electoral experience for the first time, emphasizing that these candidates will enter the electoral arena with "boldness and firm conviction." These choices, according to Benabdellah, come as part of the Party of Progress and Socialism's endeavor to present lists that include new competencies, while granting greater space to women and youth in the upcoming legislative elections.
