The Renaissance Sportive de Berkane club held its ordinary general assembly on Saturday, September 5th, for the 2025/2026 sports season at the club's academy headquarters. This organizational meeting was dedicated to reviewing the literary and financial reports and assessing the performance of a football season marked by intense continental and national challenges.
In his opening speech, club president Hakim Benabdellah described the season's outcome as "positive," indicating that the team succeeded in achieving its set goals despite technical and human constraints. These included a wave of injuries affecting key players and the departure of experienced core members during crucial phases of the competition.
Benabdellah affirmed that securing qualification for the African Champions League for the second time represents a strategic gain, cementing RS Berkane's position among the powerhouses of national and continental clubs and maintaining the club's competitiveness at the highest levels.
The literary report presented a transparent review of how the management handled several complex issues that caused controversy during the season. These included the case of player Lamine Camara, the termination of the contract with Tunisian coach Moine Chaabani, and the follow-up on the treatment programs for injured players. The president emphasized that the decisions made primarily aimed to preserve the club's financial stability and legal gains.
Regarding the training and youth sector, the general assembly praised the significant development in the performance of the younger age groups, particularly the U20 team, which has provided many promising talents to national teams.
The report also touched upon international offers received by some young talents, most notably the interest from Spanish club Real Betis in player El Raggy, reflecting the effectiveness of the adopted football policy in scouting and developing talent.
Concerning strengthening the first team's squad, the management explained that they had finalized several proactive signings to fill vacant positions. Negotiations are ongoing to recruit a central defender and a pure striker before the transfer window closes, ensuring the squad's readiness for upcoming competitions.
The session concluded with important organizational implications. Hakim Benabdellah indicated that the next phase requires "renewing the blood" and injecting new energies into the management structure, paving the way for a new era of administrative governance.
These statements come after a seven-year tenure at the helm of the directorial board and 13 years of administrative work within the club. This opens the door for new arrangements aimed at ensuring a smooth administrative transition, while adhering to the management approach that has made RS Berkane a model of stability and professionalism in national football.
