Rashid witnessed a state of alert yesterday, Monday, September 7th, following the registration of about 27 cases suspected of being linked to food poisoning, after their owners consumed a meal of 'Sikook' at the city's weekly market.
According to a local source, Rashid Provincial Hospital began receiving a number of people consecutively, after they developed health symptoms, including severe abdominal pain and cramps, following their consumption of the aforementioned meal at the weekly market.
Given the influx of cases, the competent authorities were notified to intervene quickly by the security and health authorities. Medical and nursing staff were mobilized to care for the injured and subject them to necessary medical examinations and treatments.
